June 6, 2012 was the release date of Fade’s 7th studio-album called „TEN“, which is currently only available in Japan or on iTunes for countries like the US. The album includes 14 Tracks and can be ordered as a Limited Version with DVD, or a Regular Edition.
– Both Versions have different covers, but also include either „One Reason“ (Limited) or „Close to You (English)“ (Regular) as their 14th track.
Though overall, Fade has kept the heavy and rough, western sound fans are probably used, they also do not fail to surprise by musically walking some completely new paths on this album; as well as developing all the elements which could be found on older albums onto a new, totally convincing level.
As usual, the band doesn’t waste much time on an instrumental or introduction, but rocks straight from the beginning. „In the End“ finds its way into the ears of the listener with heavy and rough guitars, but straight forward lyrics, not failing to submit a totally clear message: „Nothing and no one is gonna stop me, no matter what they say.“
The song is definitely „typically“ Fade and also leads into the second track in a nice way.
„Chase for Daylight“ features Toyo, the singer of another Japanese band, called „NEW BREED“. He already collaborated with Fade in the past on the „To Find A Better Tomorrow“ album for the track „Slitting Regret“ – and, as it was to be expected, he adds untypical growling and screaming to the song. „Chase for Daylight“ is probably the most outstanding example of the many musical-faces the band tried out on this new album: Toyo’s growls combined with Jon’s really clearly sung parts make a really good contrast here.
„REIMEI“, which means „Dawn“ or „Daybreak“ in Japanese, is also the first track almost completely in Japanese on this album. Despite including leading guitar and strong drum parts, the song sounds rather soft compared to the first two tracks.
„Ever Free“ could be seen as the second, really typical Fade-like song on „TEN“:
Motivational with catchy lyrics, combined with again dominating, but pretty melodic guitar tunes and quite „outstanding“ drumming in the background.
Significant here: The always repeating „Wohoh“ is sung by the other band members instead of Jon himself.
Reaching track number 5, it seems like suddenly switching to another album.
„Close to You“, which is included in the album as a Japanese version, but in English on the Regular Edition, sounds almost like the typical pop song to be found and played on radio stations world-wide. Melodic and soft, but that still doesn’t totally cover the fact that the chorus seems rather repetitive, especially in the Japanese version. Anyway, this song just shows yet another musical style Fade tried to include in their 10-year jubilee release.
Melancholic, somehow sad, yet not depressing starts „Moment of Life“, the only really thoughtful song on Fade’s 7th album. Jon’s voice is absolutely the leading element here, even though the drums, guitars, bass and synths accompany him extremely well through the whole track.
„Moment of Life“ seems like the biggest contrast compared to „Close to You“ and „Chase for Daylight“; and shows the contrary musical-face of the band.
Like a scream for change, a struggle for hope and a rescue from all those terrors, the guitars blast their way through "Keep the Faith", underlining the clear message and cruel facts included in the lyrics.
It’s probably the most disturbing and accusing song on the album considering the lyrics, as it deals with topics such as war. The song in no way tries to hide the cruelties that happen on our planet, day by day. But even in all this darkness and facing all these horrors, the title is also the clear message behind: „Keep the Faith, when darkness comes…"
„WAKE UP THE WORLD“ is yet another really powerful song on „TEN“. Starting from 0 directly up to 100% especially in the chorus. This track is completely in Japanese, besides the repeating „Wake Up The World“ line, and still, even for those who don’t understand the lyrics, doesn’t fail to energize the listener from the first to the last second.
Rather sad and silent starts the next song, which still has a certain feeling of anger hidden behind the guitar tunes and the first strophe. „Pain Inside“ isn’t as demanding or straight forward when it comes to the melody, as some of the other tracks included, it rather transmits the deep feeling of being hurt and yet trying to make the best out of the situation.
It could be compared to the feeling which is in the air before a thunderstorm happens, combined with the relief when it finally starts to rain and rage outside.
In „Million To One“ the listener is practically thrown into the song at full-speed and gets involved, by being invited to „Reach out and take my hand today“.
The track itself radiates of positive energy and also self-confidence, stating that everything is possible, if you only try hard enough.
„Always and Forever“ is a heartbreaking ballad, based especially on the story told in the lyrics. As the song develops and the tragic behind the situation shows up, also the melody turns sometimes softer, sometimes rougher. This track shows perfectly that Fade are also able to transmit a sad, but still romantic atmosphere in there songs, and do not only know how to rock out heavily.
The title track of the album „TEN“ describes in an emotional way how it feels for the band to look back nowadays, at what has happened in the past ten years of their career.
Not surprisingly it is a midtempo-song, which transmits a really calming and peaceful atmosphere, leaving the listener aware of the fact that the band doesn’t take their success and accomplishments for granted.
In 2005 „Beautiful“ was originally released for the first time on Fade’s „A Moment of Truth“ album. Now, seven years later, the band decided to re-record and re-arrange the track and put it into an„unplugged“ version, although the basic melody from years before is still present in the new song. Jon’s voice appears really scratchy and almost hoarse compared to the 2005 Version. And maybe exactly because a comparison is possible, this track seems like the weakest from all 14 included songs.
„One Reason“ might already be known by some people as the Opening from the famous Anime „Deadman Wonderland“, which is recently gaining more and more attention, due to being broadcasted on several Anime-related TV Channels world-wide.
Drums and guitars are again the dominating elements of the song, yet also the bass appears surprisingly clear in some parts. Jon describes all the madness happening in the „Deadman Wonderland“, as well as the general feelings of the main character of the Anime, using his voice once again to transmit all the emotions of anger, frustration and the craving for revenge.
Looking at the album in total:
„TEN“ takes the listener onto a rollercoaster-ride of feelings, stories and genres.
The album creates a nice and refreshing mixture of new and old elements, transmits a lot of positive energy, yet also doesn’t fail to criticize and scream for changes of situations that just don’t seem right.
It is not only a summary of the emotions and development the band went through in the last ten years, it is moreover a compilation of stories written by life itself.
If you’re new to Fade I highly recommend you to listen to this album first, since it simply perfectly summarizes the whole band width of their music."

Sie sind eines der Aushängeschilder der japanischen Musikszene. Seit Jahren begeistern sie Jung und Alt. Mit ihrer Musik decken sie so ein großes Publikum ab, wie sonst kaum eine andere Band. Seien es eingängige harte Rocksongs oder sehr Elektro lastige Titel, sie scheuen absolut kein Neuland. Jetzt präsentieren sie ihre neue Single „MOTHER“ mit insgesamt drei Tracks. Natürlich wisst ihr alle wen ich meine: MUCC!
„Mother“, gleichnamig wie die Single, heisst der erste Track. In gewohnter Manier hauen die jungen Japaner in die Saiten, präsentieren eine eingängige Melodie, sowie leicht einprägsame Lyriks. Sofort verspürt man den Drang von seinem Platz aufzustehen und das Tanzbein zu schwingen. Die Riffs sind wieder einmal sehr kreativ und anspruchsvoll eingeprobt und wider gegeben worden, wodurch sofort ein sehr heimisches Gefühl entsteht. Und dann noch durch das gesamte Lied mit der Stimme des Vocals geführt, ist der Track wirklich ein grandios gewählter Opener.
Den Mittelpart stellt die doch sehr eigene und ausgefallene Mischung im zweiten Lied dar. Man kennt das Ganze ja schon, dass MUCC einen sehr experimentellen Geschmack haben, was die Einflüsse in ihrer Musik angeht. Doch einen Titel in absoluter Elektro-Manier abzuliefern, das Ganze noch gut klingen zu lassen und dabei auch noch authentisch zu wirken, das schaffen wirklich nur diese vier Musiker. Wie beschreibt man nun „Negative Dancer“ am Besten? Es ist eine absolut tanzbare, krachige Nummer, die den absoluten Ohrwurmfaktor besitzt. Die sonst eher für rockige Musik verwendeten Instrumente passen sich perfekt in diesen Song ein.
Mit sehr ruhigen, fast schon ungewohnt stillen Klängen eröffnen die Rocker den dritten und letzten Song „Asunaro no Sora“. Zunächst ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig, doch dann wird der Track immer mehr zu einer wahren Rockhymne. Gekonnt werden Schlagzeug, Gitarren und Bass kombiniert. Dieses Grundgerüst wird letztlich von der voluminösen Stimme des Sängers zum Leben erweckt. Man kann sich langsam beruhigen und von der vorangegangenen Nummer, bei der man das Tanzbein schwingen konnte erholen. Somit ein perfekter Ausklang für diese Single.

LM.C - Double Dragon

Die Tage bis Weihnachten sind gezählt. Man hetzt von einem Laden in den nächsten und ist froh, wenn man zu Hause angekommen ist und nur noch die Geschenke vorbereiten muss. Bedeutet soviel wie, dass fleißig Geschenke fein säuberlich in weihnachtliches Papier gewickelt werden und schon einmal vor sortiert werden. Und was passt hierbei besser als sich die neueste Veröffentlichung von LM.C anzuhören? „Double Dragon“ heißt das gute Stück und steht seit dem 18.12.2012 den Fans zur Verfügung.
Der erste Track ist gleichnamig wie der Name der Single „Double Dragon“. Zu Beginn nur von Gitarren und Hände klatschen eingeleitet wird dieses Lied eröffnet. Schnell steigt der Schlagzeuger ein und nimmt den Takt auf. Sofort ist klar, dass dieser Titel ein absoluter Ohrwurm ist. In den Strophen eher ruhig, meist nur von dem Bass und der Gitarre getragen singt der Sänger die Lyriks. Im Chorus wird sofort abgerockt und in die Saiten gehauen. Außerdem wird wieder das Hände klatschen eingebracht, was ein wenig an ein Live-Konzert erinnert. Ein guter Beweis sein Können unter Beweis zu stellen ist die Bridge, in der der Gitarrist seinem Instrument die schwierigsten Töne entlockt. Kurz vor Schluss geben die Musiker nochmals richtig Gas, bevor der Song nach knappen vier Minuten mit einem großen Tusch beendet wird.
„Rock the LM.C“ ist wohl das bekannteste Lied der Truppe. Egal in welchem Land und auf welchem Konzert die Mannen diesen Song zum Besten geben, er ist immer ein absoluter Erfolg. Nun mehr haben sich Sänger Maya und Gitarrist Aiji entschlossen ihren Hit in neuer Form nochmals aufzunehmen und zu bearbeiten. Mit den Worten „Rock Rock the LM.C“ beginnen die nun folgenden knapp drei Minuten. Und man staunt nicht schlecht, als einem sehr elektronische Töne entgegen schlagen. Im Gesamten eher im Sprechgesang gestaltet frisst sich auch der zweite Hit in die Ohren. Alles in allem eine sehr gelungene Neuauflage, die wirklich ein absolut neues Licht auf die Truppe aus Japan wirft. Es sollte sich wirklich ein eigenes Bild gemacht werden.
Wer sich noch keine Musik für das Weihnachtsessen ausgesucht hat, kann sich durchaus überlegen, diese beiden Titel in die Tracklist aufzunehmen. Denn wer hat denn gesagt, dass es immer konservative Weihnachtstitel sein müssen?

LM.C - Strong Pop

LM.C, das sind Sänger Maya und Gitarrist Aiji, haben passend zu ihrer Europatour ihr neues Album „Strong Pop“ auf dem Europäischen Markt herausgebracht. Genauer gesagt am 04.05.2012 in Europa und genau einen Monat vorher bereits in Japan. Das Album beinhaltet 13 Song und 2 Mix-Songs als kleiner Bonus.
„Strong Pop“ beginnt mit dem Intro „Be Strong, Be Pop”, steckt dahinter eine versteckte Message?
Auf jeden Fall ist es der LM.C Sound, den man nicht mehr so schnell aus dem Kopf bekommt. Laut, Pop-Elektro-Mix und verrückt! So lässt sich das Intro am besten beschreiben. Bereitet auf eine Ladung LM.C vor!
Titel 2 „Ah Hah!“ beginnt mit den selbigen Worten „Be Strong, be Pop!“ und schlägt gleich mit seinem Pop-Rock-Sound bei den Fans ein. Der Song verbreitet gute Laune und man beginnt zu tanzen an. Der verrückte Sound von LM.C bleibt hier auf keinen Fall zurück, auch wenn man zugeben muss, dass melodisch der Sound sehr simpel klingt. Die Wirkung auf die Fans wird er jeden Falls nicht verfehlen!
„Baby Talk“ jagt nun jeden von den Stühlen! Der perfekte Song für eine Party, obwohl das Thema Liebe ist. Vielleicht findet gerade Ihr mit diesem Song Eure Liebste oder Euren Liebsten auf der Party. Schlechte Laune Ade - Mit LM.C vergeht jeder schlechte Gedanke, man denkt gleich viel positiver und kommt in Flirtstimmung.
Elektronischer Pop kommt auch mit „Super Duper Galaxy“. Was soll dieser Titel uns sagen? Eins bringt der Song auf jeden Fall mit: Spaß!
Die Melodie bleibt im Kopf hängen und man singt bereits bei dem ersten Mal hören mit. LM.C zieht uns mit in ihre eigene Galaxy!
Klatschend beginnt „My Boy“. Hier wertet die Gitarre den Song gleich bissen mehr auf, sodass es nicht mehr als zu nach 90er Elektropop klingt. Der ganze Song ist gut auf einander abgestimmt, obwohl viele verschiedene Elemente und Sounds verwendet werden. Ebenso haben sie passend zum Songtitel eine Frauenstimme integriert. „Your lucky Boy!“, wollen wir das nicht alle LM.C ins Gesicht sagen?
Etwas abgespaceter geht es mit „Goak-On-Soul“ weiter. Live bringt der Song bestimmt noch mehr gute Laune als auf CD – Wir wollen es sehen!
Ein klarer Pluspunkt für das Gitarrensolo und die Soundefekte, denn mit diesen fühlt man sich wie bei einer Alienparty zu Hause.
„We are LM.C!!“. Die Band Hymne schlecht hin, die LM.C hier geschaffen haben. Auch wenn diese nur knappe 58 Sekunden geht. Die Fans werden sie live damit eindeutig anheizen.
Mit „Game of Life“ geht es auch gleich weiter. Dieser Song ist sehr poplastig und das Gefühl in einer Galaxie zu sein ist hier nicht gegeben. Der Song ist tanzbar und hat durch die Gitarre wieder etwas rockiges an sich.
Ein Spiel des Lebens führen wir alle auf unsere Weise und hiermit zeigen LM.C uns ihre Geschichte.
„Combat mode“ ist ein sehr lauter und schneller Song. Geprägt von dem Schlagzeug und den harten Gitarrenriffs. Er ist anders als die vorherigen Songs, aber dennoch kommt der Sound von LM.C heraus. Eine gute Abwechslung!
„peekaboo“ erinntert an die 80er Jahre. Na wer erkennt den kurzen Gitarrenriff? Na klar es waren AC/DC mit „T.N.T.“. Der Song lässt einen etwas schwelgen an einen schönen Sommertag mit vielen Freunden.
Der Song „Hoshi no Arika“ ist laut, crazy und verbreitet gute Laune. Wer hier nicht tanzt, der kann’s nun wirklich nicht. Der fröhliche Song mixt hier Rock, Elektro und natürlich Pop. LM.C treffen auch hier eine gute Mischung, die ihre Fans begeistern wird. Live wird er die Halle bestimmt beben bringen und alle werden noch mehr feiern.
„Nanimo Hajimaranakatta Ichinichi no Owarini“ ist im Gegensatz zum vorherigen Song ruhiger und man kann Luft holen. Eine schöne Pop-Rock-Ballade. Hier zeigen sich aber auch Mayas Schwächen im Gesang, die wir im aber gerne verzeihen, denn der Song ist wirklich schön und lässt die Fans träumen.
Laut und rockig geht es mit „Let me’ Crazy!“ weiter. Mitsingen und crazy sein fällt hier wirklich nicht schwer. Der Song rockt und wir würden gern mehr davon hören!
Als kleinen Bonus gibt es noch eine Mix Version von „Ah Hah!“ und „Game of Life“. Auf Visual Kei Partys sollten sie unbedingt gespielt werden!
Fazit:
Das Album „Strong Pop“ ist wirklich abwechslungsreich und LM.C beweisen, dass sie immer noch kreativ sind und ihre Fans treu bleiben. Für alle die es Bunt und verrückt lieben ist dieses Album genau das richtige.
Jene, die es lieber härter mögen sollten jedoch die Finger davon lassen. Bleibt bei Dir en grey, Lynch., D und den anderen.
Motto: Seid stark! Seid Pop!And be crazy!

L'Arc~en~Ciel - Chase

Die Single „Chase“ ist der Song von L’arc~en~Ciels Album „Butterfly“ und erschien bereits am 21.12.2011 in den Läden. Sozusagen als Vorreiter zu dem Album.„Calling…“, so wird der Song eingeleitet. Der Sound ist purer Rock gemischt mit elektronischen Elementen, dennoch unverkennbar Larcu! Hydes raue Stimme harmoniert perfekt mit dem Sound. Die Höhen und Tiefen in Hydes Stimme zeigen wieder einmal die Vielfallt seines Könnens.Es ist nicht nur ein einfacher Rock-Song, nein sind L‘arc~en~Ciel und schaffen es ihre Fans und den Rest des J-Rocks abermals zu überzeugen, dass sie immer noch präsent sind.
Der zweite Song der Single „Chase“ ist eine Akustikversion von „My Dear“. Noch gefühlsvoller als in der originalen Version, singt Hyde, nein, haucht er die Strophen. Begleitet wird der Gesang Angangs nur von einem Klavier, was bei fast jeder Frau eine leichte Gänsehaut auslöst. Ab der Mitte des Songs setzt das Schlagzeug ein, aber auch Gitarre und Bass. So etwas will man doch gleich Live hören und mitfühlen, wie die Musik durch ein durch strömt.
Beide Songs gibt es auch als „Hydeless Version“ bzw. Pianoversion. Die „Chase Version“ wurde nur auf dem Piano gespielt und es sind keine weiteren Instrumente zu hören sind. Bei „My Dear“ dagegen setzten ab der Mitte weitere Instrumente ein.Hier heißt es genießen, seinen Gedanken und Gefühlen freien lauflassen.
Fazit. „Chase“ ist ein gelungenes Stück von den vier L’arc~en~Ciel Mitgliedern. Wie bei ihren vorherigen Songs hört man gerne ihrem Können und ihrer Vielfallt zu. Sie überzeugen auch nach langer Zeit wieder und enttäuschen keinen ihrer Fans.
